Happy Black Friday!!!

Nov 28, 2008 13:29

I haven't gotten up for Black Friday shopping in about 10 years.  Let me just say, people are fucking crazy!!!  So, I created a new name for myself, being it's Thanksgivingish time still, I chose a Native American name.  Shops with a Fist!!!  Not really, but man, I'd have liked to have.  So, I went to bed at 12:30 last night.  I was comparing online pricing to instore pricing, to see where I needed to go, and what I could online.  So, let me share some things with ya'll, provided you trust online shopping.  Go to http://www.wsyx6.com/newsroom/links/links.shtml and look under Tuesday's listings.  There you can find several links for promotion codes.  Kohls's has 15% off when using your Kohls charge card and free shipping over $100.00.  Macy's has two going on, one is free shipping, and the other is 25% sale items with a $100.00 purchase.  To bad you can't use both codes, but Macy's does seem to have some fabulous deals!!!  Most stuff is 40-60% off, and then add another 25% off that is pretty damn good!  I like the "Current Codes" link from the link above.  It has codes for a whole crap load of stores.

So, I got up at the mind numbing hour of 4:20am.  I wanted to hit Macy's first, they had Christmas plates and accessories in the pattern that my Mom is collecting, that weren't avialable online.  The opened at 5am, but I got there about 5:20am.  Someone was leaving, so I got rockstar parking, right by the door.  And as it turned out, it was the door closest to the dishes!  Yea Pie!  So yeah, the store was packed with people, but I managed to get in and out in about 15 minutes.  Alot of that time was trying to get back out of the store carrying bags.  People just don't want to move, even when they see you coming with your hands full.  So, the phrase, "um..excuse me" was used alot!  Then, I aimed for Wal-Mart.  I had no idea what I wanted there, but I know they're fairly cheap, and I could find something.  They opened at 5 also.  I got there around 5:45, and the parking lot was completely full, and there were people everywhere in the parking lot.  I didn't bother to stop.  I'm reinsulating some walls in my room, so I headed over to the Home Depot, time is now 5:50am.  I didn't know if they would be open or not , but I figured I didn't want to go back out today if i could get what I needed this morning.  I looked like they were going to open at 6, there was a line formed at the door.  So, I sat in my nice warm car, and waited for the doors to open.  I didn't really have an agenda accept for fiberglass.  But I remembered on Current Codes, Home Depot online was offering a miter saw for 50% off and free shipping, but they were sold out.  I thought that I'd look instore and see if it was just online, but luckily for me, it was not,  There was a large area where this type of saw was, and there were only three left when I got to it, and I just happened to walk right into them.  So score!!!  Yet again, people are stupid, and stand in the middle of the aisle's with their carts talking, and yet again "um... excuse me" flew alot.  I got to the check out, and my favorite checker was there to greet me.  I see her almost every weekend, my dad and I are there so often.  I was looking really good, jeans, black sweater, white and grey striped oxford under the sweater, and my new nice black leather coat.  Jodi is her name, and somewhere around my age, or a little younger.  She must have made about three comments on how nice I looked, and how well I clean up.  I didn't occur to me that I was being hit on until I was outside.  Hope she wasn't thinking I was going to ask her out!  Ah, if only men flocked to me the way women do!  ;)    I got home around 6:15am.  Not to bad for a black Friday shopping trip.  I'm very proud of myself.  My kitty was inspecting my purchases when I got home, and brought them inside.  And without even thinking I said to her, "I don't need your approval."  I guess I was thinking she was going to understand me, I dunno. Went back to bed, and then got back up around 12.  It feels like I get two days today.  My mini shopping day, and now my day tearing up walls!  Have a great day ya'll!  ;)
