NOT GAMES

I got about 15 lbs of Yerba Mate I ordered in bulk. I honestly don't mind the taste, especially cut with a little mint. The only problem is "Chai Spice Mate": Too much chai spice for me to deal with.

I'm starting to consider the benefits of a EEE PC. Will have to gather friends' success stories with them.

Have you tried Dragon Age on the PC? It seems more suited for that.

Hope that Hellas game goes well.

I am interested in hearing some opinions on DA from some trustworthy folks. Everyone I know who's frothing about it seems to have barely played it but omg swords and armor. Let us know what you think if you play it more.

Well, it's pretty much Baldur's Gate 3. It's BG, but more modern, and made by the same guys. If you liked those games, you'll like this. Combat's tougher and more tactical.

Alternately, it's basically Mass Effect in Middle Earth. I'm about ~5 hours in, and enjoying it quite a bit so far, though most of that was still in the fast-paced plot intro episode. We'll see how it holds up in the individual planets regions.

I'm a bit bummed that they don't give your character a voice. It makes the conversations feel a lot more one-sided than Mass Effect's did, despite always having at least three conversation-tree options. Also, as hokey as BioWare's bipolar morality systems can be when looked at too closely, they do provide a strong feedback mechanism if you want to play your character in a consistent way to help build verisimilitude. It's much harder to pick out the 'voice' of each conversation option without that framework, and my character feels much more like a cipher because of it.
