"Fallen Scooterist - Please Help"
Through no fault of his own, Zac Johnson has fallen into a coma due to a wreck yesterday with an SUV that made an illegal turn in front of him. He was wearing full gear, from a full face down to armored pants even. But no matter how safe you are, even if you obey all the rules like Zac did, things like this can happen.
Now Zac's wife is sitting with their only child, who was born less than two weeks ago, getting ready to go back to the hospital and sit and wait. Right now we have no answers, only hope - that Zac wakes up soon, and that he will be OK. His injuries are extensive, the healing may take a while - but he is a fighter, and we know he'll pull through this somehow.
I know Yvette wouldn't ask - nor would Zac - but I am asking you to please donate to help his family. The Paypal address is zacsfund@yahoo.com The last thing Yvette needs to worry about now is how she is going to pay the power bills or how she is going to put gas in the car...I know that right now her only concern is the same concern we all have; for Zac to get better. But I know from experience the financial issues follow very soon after the medical ones....so please, give what you can.
Zac has for years run Stellaspeed at a financial loss to himself, only to promote scootering and get good information out there. He is one of the kindest people you could meet, and would (and has) helped any one of us. I know I am personally indebted to him for all he has done, and everyone else I talk to feels the same way. All he ever did is give, so now I am asking for people to give back a little.
I will update as much as I can on his status when I get the chance. The ICU waiting room is packed around the clock with friends and family, we are all pulling for a full recovery.
Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
