Another attempt to stop failing at communicating
Hello, friends, remember me?
I'm in Maine. How's that for a start? After Michigan (the drive down to De Trois was uneventful, aside from a slight detour where we got a wee bit lost), I spent a week in Maine. When homesickness overwhelmed me I went down to the City for a week. It was nice being home. I always find my room overwhelming-- there are so many things to do in it that I've been wanting to and planning to do for so long. There's still an unpainted wall. But I spent some time with my cats and my folks. Walked around and ran some ever so important errands. Mostly involving food or coffee. Then I came back up here for the Halloween weekend. We neglected the party in favor of catching up and sleeping. The school sponsered dance was the next night anyway. Saturday night we got all dressed up as pyrates (we looked good!) and drank some with some of his friends and eventually went to the actual dance. It was a little bit of a disappointment-- I couldn't really hear the music that I was supposed to be dancing to. But there were glow sticks. Glow sticks make everything more fun. I will post some pictures soon. Especially since it's November already. Details.
The week has been week-like. He's been doing school work-- problem sets, thesis research, goofing off. I've been making phone calls in an attempt to find us an apartment. It would be nice to have a kitchen again. I've got some leads. I attempted to start official driving instruction but, unfortunately, Maine doesn't accept NYS learner's permits. I can get a Maine permit for $10 but it'll take a month. Cuz it's Maine. And I don't have an address here. Again, details. I want to get my NYS license but I think I'll start the ME process just in case.
My folks and I are going to Florence at the end of the month! Woot!
My breast is healed, now I just have to try to reduce the grimace-like scar.
I miss all of you guys. I'm working on calling and sending emails and what not. I'm getting there.
