Ahhh so my Books Read list is pitifully short this year. That is, unless you count all the fics I've read since April when I fell headlong into a new OTP and started trawling AO3 during my commute instead of reading real, proper books. Nonetheless, I managed to read the following in 2017 (with some re-reads from a class I took):
Adventures in Human Being - Gavin Francis
Designing Your Life - Bill Burnett & Dave Evans
Dream Hoarders - Richard Reeves
Exit West - Mohsin Hamid
How People Change - Tim S. Lane & Paul David Tripp
I'd Like to Apologize to Every Teacher I Ever Had - Tony Danza
Jane Jacobs: the Last Interview - Meville House Publisher
Life Together - Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Prophetic Lament - Soong-Chan Rah
Saving the Saved - Bryan Lorritts
Screwtape Letters - C.S. Lewis
Strong and Weak - Andy Crouch
Tales of Wonder - Tana Reiff
The Reason I Jump - Naoki Higashida
Your Vocational Credo - Deborah Koehn Lloyd
風雨任平生:倪匡傳
(Honorable mention: Verdi's Requiem, because damn did I need to read that score to barely manage a charity performance with only three days of rehearsal while flying by the seat of my pants.)
Of these, the most beautifully written was Exit West and the most practically helpful, Designing Your Life.
Here's to hoping I'll discover many new (to me) books in 2018!
