A couple of interesting things I did so far this week:
♦ Went to
Sotheby's to look at J.K. Rowling's hand-written copy of The Tale of Beetle the Bard. There wasn't much to see, the book was closed and stored inside a sealed glass case. But it has a very nice dark-red leather (?) cover and the pages of the book have been made to appear old, with uneven edges and roughened surfaces. I bought the auction catalogue as a souvenir (you can buy them online
here, but they're $4 USD more expensive than if you purchase them on site). If you're in the New York City area, the book is on display until tomorrow 4:00 p.m. EST. Details are
here.
♦ Went with
titti to the
WGAE rally at Washington Square Park today. It was during my lunch time so I hopped on the train, met
titti at McDonald's for a quick lunch, and walked on over to the park. We stayed long enough to hear Scott Stringer speak his blurb. Another rally is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Time Warner Center. Unfortunately, I won't be able to go to that one.
Interesting week so far, but... is it the end of the week yet? *groans*
