There was supposed to be a lunar eclipse sometime around 5 a.m. EDT today. Well, I was up at that time -- already at work, in fact. A fellow partner suggested going outside to watch the eclipse, so we rushed outside and... alas, a tall building stood in the way of where the moon should have been.
Eh, the inconvenience of trying to look at nature in New York City.
In other news, I visited Long Beach this weekend and got my monthly dose of outdoor/nature. Lisa's place is literally a block from the beach, so I got to take a two-hour walk along the wet sand with CJ, a friend visiting from out of town. I picked up a nice seashell and we watched the setting sun turning the clouds in the sky a bright orange-red. That was probably the longest stretch of being in a nature setting for me in months.
I'm such a non-outdoor person. Yes, I walk outside in the streets a lot during the day, but when I have free time, a functional computer with Internet access in an air-conditioned room and enough food in the fridge are good enough for me *g*
