You know, my immediate visceral reaction during and directly after seeing AWE was that I did not like it. It was incomprehensible ("it" being the story AND/OR dialogue... I can't even tell which). But I've been thinking about the movie as whole, and it feels like there's something substantive there, which is why I feel like I want to see it again... if not in theatres, then at least on DVD. I read the Wikipedia entry which cleared up the various storylines and revealed many other interesting tidbits they pulled (the Kraken! totally missed it!) that really provided subtle texture. I think it came off as a mess to the casual moviegoer but at least there was that darker, historical/mythical edge. And that's about as much as I saw of it (the edge), so I'll have to spend time to reveal more... but according to you, it's very much worth it! :T
