Mom in the City
Dear flist, you're wonderful, and I love you all...
But...
I've realized, a lot of times I'm motivated to update because I know a certain someone reads my entries. Wouldn't want to make her think something's up with me because I haven't updated in a while now, would I?
Well, since Mom's visiting me in NYC, I've sort of neglected LJ. I did the ?skip=300+ read, but if I missed anything, feel free to point me.
To make up for my silence, here's a variety of stuff for you all. Basketball and list and poll and meme and YouTube video... something for everyone! *g*
Ten Things I Did with Mom While She Was Visiting
1. Food
2. Took a trip to *my* Starbucks. She and my aunt both met a bunch of people I normally open with.
3. Food
4. Went to Princeton while spending the weekend in NJ. We ate at the Witherspoon Grill restaurant.
5. Food
6. Went on a Wegman's run. And... yup, we ate food there too.
7. Food
8. Took a second trip to Starbucks, this time Girl & Boy Cousins tagged along. More food.
9. Watched "Reign Over Me" at Loews on 19th & Broadway. Pretty good movie, I liked Adam Sandler in a serious role. And the theme song? For some reason I've always thought it was "Rain Over Me" until now, so I didn't make the connection between the song and the movie title until halfway through the movie.
10. What's a birthday celebration without yet more food? To celebrate my aunt's birthday, we went to Il Cortile in Little Italy for food.
March Madness Grumbles
As soon as I thought: "Well, at least my final four teams are safe" right after the Sweet Sixteen, and BAM! all of my teams lost. Georgetown shouldn't even be in the tournament! Vanderbilt should have won the Sweet Sixteen game because G'Town traveled to make the buzzer-beater (and game-winning) shot! Both commentators saw that, I saw it, and Girl Cousin totally saw it too (and of course she's right, because she plays basketball *g*)! And if G'Town hadn't won, UNC could still be in the tournament! *grumbles*
Oh well, time to pick some random team to cheer for during the last couple of rounds of the tournament. Maybe I'll stick with the Gators. Their win gave me the last 8 points I could possibly have earned in my bracket, after all.
