Reporting Missing Flying Car
Harry Potter themed post today because I'm in the midst of writing an article about the stolen Ford Anglia that was the flying car for the movie Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, first reported in mainstream media in BBC, I believe. In going through 70+ news article in Google and LJ to confirm the story about the stolen car, I discovered some other pretty interesting HP links:
I came across an interesting article about Cho Chang yesterday. The post is mostly about characterization and why people don't like Cho, but some deeper questions about ethnic identity and situating her in appropriate cultural contexts are in the discussion threads. For you Chinese (or Asian) Harry Potter fans out there, or even if you're not, it's worth a read.
I found this and thought it to be very amusing: Hogwarts Mail. Please don't mass link to this 'cause I've uploaded it onto my own Web space, which gives me a set amount of bandwidth.
I'm glad for the extra hour I get from ending Daylight Savings Time, although that hour didn't seem to have given me any extra time for work.
