When you click the reply link under someone's post (as you did to me and I am doing to you) you reply to that post and that poster alone. Those who have decided to have those posts send to them via email (like myself) can sometimes find it odd if not annoyed by people randomly sending stuff to their Inbox (once again, I am a prime example).
Thus, to prevent such incidents from ever happening again (as it happend on a few previous occasions), a smart Canadian can use the "Post Comment" link at the very bottom of the page to reply to the person who posted the journal entry (who is Carla in this case). This will send your comment to her email Inbox instead of some stranger person who ends up having a go at you because he had a bad day at work.
Thank you, I feel.....about 200% smarter. And in the future I will follow your advice. Oh wise and grandmaster of "LJ" and perhaps it will make me a better person in the end. In closing....who cares? get a life.
