rambling thoughts for the day...

- I picked out a new layout from the premade ones available. you like? zia319 zia319 zia319

- no. I'm not avoiding work. really. I'm just taking a break to eat lunch and get away from reading the updated manuals that went into effect today. seriously, I am. I'll get back to it in a minute. I'm on the last one of 4 now.

- I had dental work done on Friday. 'twas not fun. but 'twas amusing at the same time 'cause the hygeinist and the doctor were amusing as hell. 'twas a new dentist for me so I'm happy with the new choice.

ok so expect TV rambling to include spoilers, especially the Atlantis ramblings, as I'm not going to differentiate much between The Shrine, Whispers or The Queen ramblings, just FYI. also Fringe and Bones ramblings under here too.

- ok so Fringe I thought was pretty good. not as sweet a premier as Alias or LOST, but then those are both tough acts to follow. I'm looking forward to the rest of the show though. even Pacey... sorry, Parker wasn't as annoying as I thought he'd be. and I love John Noble. and Anna Torv could be cool. should be a fun discovery season (and Tuesdays are the best nights now, with both House and Fringe - yay for House being back this week!!)

- Bones. oh Bones. as much as I loved Zach and figured I'd miss him, and yes I did, don't get me wrong, this was a fun first couple of eps. the premier was great though I have to say it's a good thing it was the British Bones who bought it and not the British Booth 'cause if it had been the reverse I woulda spent the rest of the episode thinking OMG THEY KILLED SUSIE... AGAIN!! *headdesk* which is one reason I have no clue wtf her name was in the ep. lmao but wtf was up with the bubbly and annoying new temp assistant in the second ep anyways? seriously wtf? I wanted to strangle her within about a minute of her showing up on screen. *gags* and of course Sweets would get along perfectly with her *rolls eyes* *snicker*

- Atlantis. *le sigh* ok so The Shrine was freaking awesome. I absolutely LOVED it. almost everything about it was brilliant - everything except about 30 sec to 1 min at the end that made no sense at all. but the rest was brilliant. even Jeannie was much more the caring sister than a bitchy sister than she has been ever before, which I loved. and The Pier Scene. yes, it shall be immortalized in most fangirls' thoughts in regards to this episode forever. it was a perfect example of what McKay and Sheppard mean to each other, and could be interpreted as platonic or otherwise, and was so well performed by JF and DH that it was just beautiful to watch. loved the whole damned ep. obviously 5 of 5 stars from me.

Whispers, OTOH, was, well, a nightmare. for all the anticipation/hype it was rather meh. the creepiness wasn't as creepy as it could have been IMHO. the gas-mask thing was more of a wtf moment than anything else (and yes, as I have seen many mention, I was one of those who was thinking "are you my mummy?" at that point and just giggled instead of being scared. Doctor Who has seriously changed our way of thinking of certain things has it not? roflmfao). liked Dusty and Porter, and the Beckett/Porter flirtation was amusing, but really? *yawn* this was about a 1-star, maaaaybe 1.5 stars from me.

The Queen. the only thing I'd heard about this one prior was rumors of Teyla having a dark side (again, this rumor, why? let the mommy have some peace why don't you). I gotta say after seeing it - what dark side? I mean, she did a decent job acting the part she was asked to play, but. I honestly didn't see her going any further than she had to. killing a bunch of extra Wraith when she had the chance just for the hell of it? does that constitute a dark side? personally, I don't think so. she's been killing Wraith a whole lot longer than she's been working with any of them. why wouldn't she take that chance when it's been handed to her on a silver platter? I would have. I don't see that has a dark side. at least, not any darker than what we had already seen in Missing, and I think Missing was much darker than The Queen. *shrugs* whatever. either way that argument goes, I thought it was a decent ep, but not the best. maybe a 3-3.5. Loved Todd though. *grins* how can you not?

random dvd note... Torchwood S2 comes out tomorrow *squee* so I get to go pick up my copy on my way home from work (I LOVE when store prices are the same as Amazon prices - saves me aggravation and let's me get it where I want to and get points along the way lol)
