bwahaha it's been a good weekend of doing absolutely nothing. I've transferred a bunch of stuff from my dvr to dvd and that's about it. nothing to update about from RL so some thoughts about my TV shows... SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN HOUSE OR LOST YET (but then I know most of you will have either seen them already or just not care so go ahead and read along lmao) OH AND ALSO FOR THE LATEST SGA EPPY. I won't say spoilers for Torchwood since BBC America is an eppy behind the BBC so I'm the one avoiding teh spoilers rofl.
FINALLY a new House eppy! AND WE GET TWO NEW ONES NEXT WEEK! and probly none after that lmao but hey it's worth staying up even later after the Super Bowl for *snicker* ANYWAYS... the new team is amusing me muchly. they are so like the old team and yet so not like the old team, it's hilarious. and that they still refer to 13 as 13? is even funnier. and the fact that House met a petient and her daughter who both never lie to each other until it comes to the mom refusing to believe she's dying? that was seriously cool. also cool that she wasn't actually dying. I also love House's latest scheming with the Secret Santa. it amused me muchly. *giggle*
So Torchwood is back and so is Cap'n Jack. *squee* The first eppy was fun. James Marsters was great, though Cap'n John sorta reminded me too much of Spike. ok a lot of Spike. Just. without the long leather jacket. *snicker* I was almost waiting for the fangs to come out and play. but it was a fun eppy nonetheless. I liked Jack in this ep a lot - much happier than he was in S1, much more like he was when we first met him in Doctor Who, and I like that. also? DATE WITH IANTO! *dances* I also like that his team isn't just going to sit around and wait for him when he tells them to anymore, that they say "fuck that" and follow because they want to know more about wtf is going on and who he is. I think that's just cool. also can I just say... did they really do the poison kiss thing? *blinks* they really did. *rolls eyes* but anywho, I liked the ep mostly. I liked that we got to see more of Jack's past and that we got to see that he really does want to be here in this place with these people in this time. that's cool. second eppy? meh. and that's honestly all I can think of to say about that. it was just on last night, less than 12 hours ago, and that's all I can think of to say. nothing stands out, really. just, meh. better luck next week.
LOST 4.01 - The Beginning of the End
poor Hurley. "the Oceanic Six" huh? interesting. bwahaha kate rocks. I'm gonna miss Charlie. *sniffle* Locke's gone nutters. as nutters as Hurley. but at least I like Hurley. poor Hurley. *pets* *hugs Claire* nice way to keep Dom coming back every once in a while. Hurley rocks. and damnit my recording cut off like a minute early. *pouts*
4.11 Be All My Sins Remembered
I could've sworn I wrote something up about this one but that must've been a comment on <"lj user="crystal_lily">'s journal only lmao so here goes... ok tandem turning of heads with "oh really? you sure about that?" looks on their faces at carter's "it's the first time we've needed them both" was absolutely priceless. that and the multitudinous "Colonel" greetings Rodney called them on. *gigglefit* also CALDWELL!!! *dances* and dude, Caldwell is the smartest man in the room during this particular briefing. he just stays quiet, let's Rodney do his thing, let's Ellis dig his own grave, let's Sheppard get Rodney back on track, and let's Carter show Ellis that his grave has been dug and he only needs one more action to be shoved in it. it's lovely. *snicker* also Rodney-Wraith banter? priceless. what's with the Carter-in-leather? why is this necessary for a trip in space on a ship? ok time to bite the bullet. Fran. while I love that leaving Rodney alone with his work leads to insanity, I still haven't decided what to think about this. I don't think he'll be doing something like this again but I don't think he really ever saw ethical consequences to his decision to make her, even though they did try to portray that he felt bad about it at the end. also? I hate Larrin. ok the reaction to Teyla's pregnancy announcement. John's reaction is understandable, being a CO and a friend and all. Ronon is absolutely adorable. Nice battle at the end. cool blob. nice big explosion, just how I like them. Fran's "Hello." amused me. ok they really need to stop putting Shep in situations with women where he's attempting to flirt. 'cause he's just soooo bad at it that it's painful to watch. but he's so comfy when bantering with Rodney. hee *snicker* and huh. RepliWeir? didn't see that one coming.
4.12 Spoils of War
LORNE!!! awww. *smishes* ok that scene with him and Teyla? adorable. I think it's kinda interesting that Teyla's Wraith DNA mojo is enhanced by her pregancy. kinda cool in one respect. kinda scary in another. other than that, this ep was rather predictable to me once they got to the lab facility. *snicker* it's amusing that they always go for Sheppard first. though he kinda went to his knees a little too willingly this time, doesn't it usually take him longer? or maybe he figures by now that he'll last longer under questioning if he just gives up that part initially. lmao only Shep would have a strategy for Wraith Queen interrogations. *snorts* yay for Teyla saving the day mostly, boo for her needing Sheppard's help in the end. double yay for the baby being ok. yay for Sheppard seeming to start figuring out that hugs are probably going to figure a lot in his future from emotional pregnant woman so he'd better get used to it and start getting more comfy with it, at least with her. roflmfao
4.13 Quarantine - Carl Binder
OK typing this as I watch... bwahahaha. if you can't get him to hit actual golf balls with you, why not virtual golf? *sporfle* did he call him dude? and wow, the look on John's face when rodney tells him he's going to propose to Katie and shows him the ring? priceless. and wow there must've been kinda a long break between last week and this week 'cause that's a much bigger baby bump than there was last week Teyla. lmao she looks great though. and Ronon's looking for excuses to visit his crush. aww. roflmfao. have I mentioned I can't stand Katie? *shivers* *frowns* oh good no proposal yet. *gleeful* bwahaha I love how everyone's calling for Rodney. oh noes. Rodney without radio or tech to play with during a crisis. *dies laughing* this is gonna be so not good for him, and man is Katie gonna get a wake up call. *cackles* ok Shep is cracking me up with the protectiveness. *snicker* ok note to self, it was ROTC for Shep lmao. and nice chat between them. :) Radek's pigeons! malfunction, not Rodney's fault. yup. I'm sure other's are working on the problem. so says everyone but Teyla and Shep, 'cause they know better. ok not really feeling the Ronon-Keller vibe here. I think this is a case of both too much and too little information for Rodney. he knows everything about his lockdown program so he knows it's useless to fiddle with the doors to try and get out but he's not sure just how much of a lockdown it is, and this? is a big problem for him. this + hypoglycemia that he doesn't recognize as hypoglycemia = HUGE problem. and Katie has no idea what to do about it. his team would. SHEPPARD KNOWS MCKAY'S PASSWORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE SO MARRIED! also? Teyla's expression at Shep's recitation of the meaning of "42"? priceless. bwahahaha. ok Rodney sucks at cheering up Katie. *chokes with Rodney @ Katie's discussion of the penis cactus* *headdesk* *gags @ the trading of feel-good moments with Ronon and Keller* *rolls eyes* ok sorry they'd make a cute couple if they weren't trying so hard to make it work on screen. I am amused by Shep's default "blow shit up" reaction. awww the baby kicked! John. you. are. a. huge. dork. climbing the tower because Batman did it? *headdesk* no, you did it 'cause you're restless and don't know how to sit still especially when confronted with emotional pregnant woman. *snicker @ oblivious Radek* ya know, Shep's gonna be sore as fuck tomorrow... lmao of course that can't be the end of things. bwahahahaha it's canon that Shep poison's Ronon's brain with Earth movies like Jaws *gigglefit* of course he'd love that movie. ok wasn't that chick in the control room also in the control room in the replicator city with Oberoth in This Mortal Coil? same hairstyle and everything. *snickers @ Lorne asking why they'd set the self destruct and Shep's look* um... why does Lorne have C4 with him? roflmfao oh noes. Katie would still say "yes" wouldn't she? *headdesk* is it bad that I want the tank to blow up? *hides* TEYLA WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING? GET THE FUCK DOWN FROM THERE!!! good girl. *snicker* this is so not gonna work Ronon, but good luck anyway. ok don't they realize that if it had worked they wouldn't have seen the tank where they were? *rolls eyes* nice explosion. yes, rescue the nice Czech and Colonel. nice rundown of the ep so far guys. *gags @ Katie* ok good girl, you're finally realizing that it's never gonna work with Rodney, aren't you? good. yayay Radek to save the day! so we've got a female Doogie Howser, huh? that explains some things. *gigglefit @ Radek* *snorts* talk about awkward moment. *snicker @ the looks Ronon gets from Shep and Teyla* good boy Rodney for coming to your senses. and good girl Katie. that bye sounded rather final.
and now am going to go on a McShep ramble so you can skip to the next eppy if you want... talk about freaking subtext. damn. if only they'd let McShep truly be canon... it would so work. if I hadn't been a believer already I would be now. this ep? I don't care if what, 30-40% of it was about Rodney and Katie. it showed how it doesn't work, probably never really did work very well, probably never would work in the long run, and in the end, was the end for them. another chunk of the ep showed just how completely the opposite Rodney's relationship with Sheppard is from his relationship with Katie. one word: password. McKay is not the type of person who goes around telling people his password. he's too paranoid about his work and the security of everything, especially his work to do that. so the fact that he ever opened his mouth and blabbed it to John, knowing his "math geek = good with numbers" status would mean that he'd most likely remember it, is kinda big. like huge on the trust scale. either that or he somehow had a sixh sense that someday Shep would need his password 'cause he wouldn't be there to pull a miracle out of his ass to save the day but Shep would be. or maybe he told him during his whole almost-ascended thing and then never changed it. but still. he never changed it. ok I'll stop now.
4.14 Harmony - Martin Gero
IMHO, this episode was written by the only Stargate writer capable of pulling it off without nearly every single fan sitting up and groaning and calling it a dud. This could have been this year's The Tower or the Season 3 episodes that doesn't exist. Instead, while it was somewhat predictable and there were of course moments for the rolling of the eyes, there were more moments of giggling in the "oh boys," and "I love martin gero" way than in the "I can't believe they just actually did that" way. so. in that respect, on with my review. Harmony herself? cute little bitch. pretentious, arrogant little bitch. it amused the hell out of me when she was threatening McKay. and when she was totally hitting on Shep. and when she was making a deal with McKay to not interfere with her totally hitting on Shep. because they both "don't not like" each other. and John is now officially a Queen. IN CANON usurper. *dies laughing* and. the portrait. which McKay will never in a million years ever let him forget. *gigglefit* I wonder what the Flan really thinks about that one. *snickers*
Outcast discussion follows, so spoilers below if you haven't seen it yet...
4.15 Outcast - Alan McCullough
Poor Shep. He really does have a shitty week. First his dad dies. Then his best friend can't come with him (though honestly why they couldn't have saddled Zelenka with the kids again, was just a plot device, 'cause they sooo could have. seriously. this was a damned good reason to do so radek. anyways.). But at least his other best friend decides to go with him. but then he's accosted with work-related stuff at his father's wake of all places, and his brother accuses him of coming home for the money. and then there's a home-grown replicator on the loose. perfect. but. BATES!!!!!!!!!!! *dances* great to see him again! poor guy got all banged up again though - geeze can't just leave him be, huh? lmao but BATES! hee! um. can I also just say hotness runs in the Sheppard family? ok got that out of my system. *snicker* also-squared? I mentioned I love Ronon, right? 'cause I do. *grins* also-cubed? ex-Mrs. Shep? I love that she went and got classified info for him pretty much just because he asked. rofl and that she works for Homeland Security. It's nice that brother Dave is nice and lets him in at the end though. wonder if they'll revisit any of that in future eps. somehow, I doubt it. not a bad ep.
