See, when I was little, it just happened that I spent quite a few birthdays on the road (on the train, or plane), by myself. Though my parents made up for them missed birthdays later on, I didn't really count them ;) I guess a *difficult* childhood birthday experience could make anything that now very special.
The truth is, my birthday celebrations just got better and better when I grew older. I thought I'd try to list the fun to share:
20th: a surprise birthday party that was held at the basement of my dorm. That was the first suprise birthday party I've ever had.
21st: I had 3 birthday parties. One with my friends back in China, one with my parents, and one with my friends from college.
22nd: I went skydiving with my housemate.
23rd: dinner at red lobsters (not that special, only because I was leaving for Cali the next day and a hang over on the plane wouldn't be pretty)
24th: no need to say more :-D
haha, I wrote such a long essay just to convience you that birthdays are still great. Now, you truly believe me? :)
BTW, it's Wed again today, farmers' market day! Great fun and bug free!
Oh man. I had a lot of good birthdays as a child, now they are only so-so.
Maybe my good birthday ability has worn itself out already :'(
The more I thought about it, the more it made sense. That is no bugs being in the farmer's market fruit. They know more about their fruit and put much more care and concentration into their produce than the grocery stores are able to.
