Well, I looked it up and found out that you're right, not much there at all. Not even and entire chapter. -.- Most of what I found is the basic stuff like how Cain worked in the fields and Able tended sheep.

I never did understand before exactly why God accepted Able's offering while refusing Cain's. It states that he offered the fruits of the ground or something like that, but doesn't really say whether it was the best of his harvest or not. On the other hand it does specifically state that Able gave the 'firstlings of his flock'. There's also this quote: "If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door." from God, which leads me to believe that he didn't give his best and that was why the sacrifice was not accepted.

It went on about how Cain and Able talked afterwards for a bit, and then they went into the field and Cain killed Able. Cain was cast out from where he lived and told that he'd no longer be able to grow anything. After he heard that Cain was afraid people would try to kill him, so the Lord put some kind of mark on him and said that anyone who killed him would be repaid for their sin seven-fold or something like that. I doubt anyone could die seven times, but maybe their death would be seven times more painfull?

Most of the information after that is pretty useless, about Cain finding a wife and having all these descendants. Which is much father than you intend to go with this fiction, right? Tell me if you need any more information or want me to expound on anything.

Damn. Oh well.

The Cain and Abel thing about the fiction was the fact that Karl was gonna kill Thomas, not out of malice, but out of love. Thomas was stricken with something that was terminal and Karl kills him so Thomas won't feel pain from the illness. A mercy killing. However, everyone and their dog casts Karl out as an exile.
