how sweet is it to be loved by you!

Tonight I went for one of my bigger swims (to you know, prepare for my big 5k) and I'm going at a good pace, feeling fine, and then I'm told I must exit the pool as some kid puked in it. I really needed to do a big swim this week, too, but perhaps I can squeeze it in on Sunday when I will swim an Olympic size pool for the first time! :O

This morning I was a judge for a science fair out at an elementary school in Petrolia (definitely better than calculating emission rates). I know these kids are only in grade 7 & 8 but grammar mistakes that make my blood boil:

• effect vs. affect
  
• it's vs. its
  
• there, their, and they're
  
• then vs. than
  
• not grammar, but it's definitely, not definately

WHY DOESN'T OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM TEACH PEOPLE HOW TO USE THESE?! And they want to remove grade 12 calculus from the high school curriculum? WHAT THE FACK? Don't even get me started on that one.

What happened to Brand New? God, I love them.
