Ten thousand million years ago, on a planet very much like Earth, lives a Very-Much-Like-Turtle. Very-Much-Like-Turtle has a very long life. He swam in the sea, crawled on land, and felt at home wherever he wandered because he carried his shell around you see.

Throughout the time, he witnessed the rise and fall of a Sun and the planet’s nine moons. He witnessed the flourishing and the extinction of species, and some time in the middle of it all, he encountered the beginning of some Very-Much-Like-Humans.

Turtle looked on, contented to just watch and not intervene. Cities were built, laid to ruins, rebuilt and laid to ruins ten thousand times. And he was amused at what these people were trying to achieve.

These humans’ life spans appeared very short by Turtle’s measure. And after they have lived what they thought was a long time full of happiness, sadness, joy, guilt and regret, these humans each will shed a tear on their deathbed before they passed away.
And though the humans didn’t know understand how to be “eco-friendly” at the time, the universe was not standing by idling. For the universe itself is a huge recycling process. Not just things were recycled, but people’s egos and consciences too. And many men live and died, shedding their tears and got recycled to live again, feeling a little anew, but they were actually very very old.

Turtle felt like telling them:

Don’t you know? A second ago you were born, another second and you are gone.

Don’t you know? Not knowing how to forgive is the same as not knowing how to say sorry.

Don’t you know? You can only find true love by being the person who truly loves.

Don’t you know? Those most weakened by the worst circumstances are the strongest survivors.

Don’t you know? Everything is as everything is. Your eyes but see, ears hear, nose smells, tongue tastes and body touches. Still everything is as everything is.

Turtle felt like telling the shortlived humans many many things usually in the form of “don’t you know”s, and he felt very happy. He felt superior and powerful. Turtle even felt that because he thought of these thoughts of eternity and truth, that eternity and truth belongs to him. Which is not to say what he thought wasn't true, if you know what this means.

Turtle immersed in this joy of his supposed eternity for ten thousand million years minus a few seconds. He swam in the sea, crawled on land, and felt at home wherever he wandered because he carried his shell around you see. All these while, woeful humans wept their tear drops.

Turtle was so engrossed in his thinking about eternity he lost track of which part of the sea he was in and what was it he was supposed to do. And in a very few seconds, something like one second before this big funny thing called Now, the long-lived Very-Much-Like-Turtle’s life came to indeed a very very abrupt end.

He was suffocated you see, by a Very-Much-Like-Plastic-Bag.

Now, Turtle is just realizing, the Sea that he has swam in for ten thousand million years, is but made of tears.

This Whole Time, the Very-Much-Like Milky Way barely moved an inch on its axis.
