Tales from GTA Online, part 10

With one day left before the next event update I think I’m in decent shape. My in-game bank account is at $5.6 million, and I see no reason that I can’t get it above 6 tomorrow. I don’t get much time online on nights that I work, so I only moved the numbers a little this afternoon when I logged in, but it was worthwhile I think.

Since last week’s day of griefers, I’ve spent most of my time in solo private sessions, slowly grinding to get my totals up. The specials got me two new supercars, and I spent a good deal of money and time in acquiring and upgrading a slew of normal cars for racing purposes. At this point I have something decent, if not great, in every class that can be raced. I do need a better SUV, though I like the one I have it’s just not fast enough. And of course, I need more cars in the Super class, though in that group I refuse to buy anything that isn’t discounted.

With the recent deluge of account resets, I continue to see videos on YouTube telling everyone exactly how to get back what they lost, or how to best run various missions. Most of this advice I completely disagree with. One guy put out a video telling everyone what the best budget vehicles to get are. My problem with it is that nothing on his list was under $1 million. I’ve only spent that much on a vehicle once, for an attack chopper. At least that one was on his list. Of the cars he listed, I don’t own any of them, because they’re just too expensive for what you get and there are cheaper ways to do things. Maybe they’re not quite as fast, or as armed or armored, but they’re still good ways to move around the map and get things done. My most used vehicle in game is still a $9,000 motorcycle. It’s fast, agile, and cheap. I have successfully outrun other players with it. Even with some of their specialty vehicles…

One more day until the mission reset. I hope it’s a good one.
