One word? One? If people were that simplistic, that easily categorized, then your meme would be far easier. As it is...

However, to choose one word among dozens which I would ascribe to you:

Is flattery always false? I was under the assumption (perhaps mistaken) that flattery was the giving of compliments in general, even if it usually has negative connotations with either false flattery or flattery for the purpose of gaining favor.

However, 'Flatterbug' is my personal Spoonerism to ensure that the noting of compliment given was taken in love and laughter and modesty, in part so that giver knows their adulation was received positively and yet that this particular recipient has occasional disbelief at the worthiness of such wording.

And you, my dear, are definitely loquacious. Perhaps verbose.

It's not necessarily false, I don't believe, but that is the general (or at least implied) connotation.

But I'd not thought you meant it as such. I cannot see you inferring a compliment from me as disingenuous. False flattery just isn't my thing. :)

As for your disbelief over such worthiness, you do yourself a disservice. And I shall take my Flatterbug title with a bow.
