Once I installed the spam prevention measures -- in specific the ones recommended here -- I actually stopped having spam problems with the Gamewatch board entirely. I still get dozens of attempted registrations a day, but they all bounce, and I have yet to hear of anyone getting blocked.

And yeah, spaghetti code probably > spam. At least spam is relatively specific to clean out and isn't in the inner workings of the system fucking things up.

It's really amazing how far PA has come since those days, in production value as well as style.
