Drive-by parrot dancing

Vasya is currently rocking out to Jim's Big Ego's "Math Prof Rock Star" (it plays on Radio JBE, which you can listen to for free). She bops up and down to the music (sometimes enough to lose her balance), adds her own improvisations (including rhythmic drip noises, various whistles, and once, a long, high-pitched "Smeeeeeeeeeeagol!"), and periodically busts out with a wing-flip accent. Those of you who have met her know that she's usually a very conservative bird; I don't think I've ever seen her so excited about a piece of music before. Results are not yet conclusive, but it may, actually, be Spring. (DO YOU HEAR THAT, WEATHER?)

Nearly to the end of the antibiotics I was on for the sinus infection, and I think I'm finally pulling out of this thing. About damn time. I was in Minneapolis last weekend for IMGDC, which was an excellent little conference and I highly recommend anyone interested in MMO space make it out next year; I will be making sure to devote more time to sticking around in '09 rather than just popping in and out. I did get to spend time with maggiedr and her husband, though, which was very awesome.

I am off tomorrow with thehollowbox to New York City for the Virtual Worlds Conference, specifically the concurrent Virtual Law Conference; am on a panel at 1pm Friday and the rest is speckled with meetings. We're staying for the weekend to visit with pantlessjohnny and boonofdoom. Wackiness likely to ensue.
