Homeless Moon folk have wildly outstripped me in posting lately, so I am going for the TKO this evening and catching up on some things I've been meaning to post here. Apologies to those on my LJ who will get it all at once.

They did have a half-elf race in EQ. I played the shaman class in that game, so that's the first class that I ever became proficient at. Although proficient in high-end EQ meant sitting with my finger poised over a single hotkey for hours.
The regret that I had about playing large races was that I presented an easier target. For that reason, I did play a gnome for awhile in WoW, and I have to say that it was a ton of fun.
From shaman in EQ, to bard in DAoC, and druid in WoW, I was always attracted to utility classes that could move fast (shamans had a speed spell in EQ). However, I got sick of always being handy in a group, but generally expected to provide one thing (buffs, speed, or healing) and never having any impact with damage. That was another reason that I enjoyed my gnome characters, one a mage and the other a rogue. Being able to stealth is as addictive as speed. I guess that's why you never get to have both skills.
This makes me miss online gaming. I wish a new one would come out that appealed to me.

Of course, I'm back to hybrid Balance/Resto now, so I don't do that as much, but that's the main attraction to me of the Druid class. I don't need to level a new character when I want a new play style, just respec.
