 EEEEEYAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!! 8DDD

Oh my god, that was incredible!! Tit for fucking tat the entire damn game, god it was so tense, and then that flubbed conversion early in the fourth quarter, omg, right off the flipping goal post, I thought we were dooooomed, what with The Enemy making a touchdown on pretty much every freaking possession, and a 6 point lead wouldn't cut it!! DD8 And then sure enough, they kept making the damn passes for the damn 1st downs and then it's 34 to 35 with like a minute left, FFFFFFF I honestly thought that was it. The end.

BUT THEY BATTLED IT OUT all the way back down the field to get in range for a 30 yard field goal, and OMG OMG OMG 4 seconds left, DON'T SCREW THIS ONE UP LIKE THE LAST ONE, AAAAAAAHHHHHH I CAN'T LOOK-we won? WE WON?! KLJSDFK WE WON AAAAAAAHHHH 8DDDD!!!!

...Possibly I may still be a little jittery from the adrenaline rush. *___* This is why I have to carefully limit the number of games I watch. The tension, it is wildly stressful, and then if you don't win there's not even any pay-off, just a massive crash and a haze of disappointment and depression that can last for up to a day afterward. For me, anyway. I don't know how people can watch every single one, I'd die.

BUT WE WON!! \o/!!!! /collapses

In another news, I'm also a bit exhausted from trekking around the Natural History Museum and Science Center all day, although that was intensely interesting. I love those kinds of places, and I'm a little baffled with myself as to how I'd never been to these ones when they're only twenty miles away, and when I've made sure to visit similar places whenever traveling further from home. :|a Ah well. The Science Center has amazingly designed interactive exhibits, and the Natural History Museum has a great outreach program. I'd love to work at either place; we'll see how applying goes. /o/

Still not sure I'm in the right mindset to squee about or properly analyze OP 598 and 599 in a journal entry, although I've been trying to write up little reactions here and there. I'll give it a whirl.

I love that we see that every character is so thoroughly themselves. Matured, refined, redesigned, but still their crazy, crazy selves, with all of their ridiculous quirks. |D

It also reminds me of a complaint I've heard voiced about OP before, that the characters are static-I never really thought that was true, but they are a lot more stable than characters in many other shounen manga. Why does this not bother me the least little bit?

1) One Piece isn't about children going through adolescence and dealing through all of the angst and 'who am I? what do I value?' searching that goes with that among other adventures. The Straw Hats are, at the youngest, teenagers and late-teenagers becoming young adults, and at the oldest, well into adulthood already, and the greater portion of their epic self-defining life events happened before they joined Luffy's crew. They already know who they are, and frankly, I love that about them.

2) Even given all that, the characters are dynamic. It's just that, for the most part, the emphasis is on how they change each other just by being there and coming together as closer-than-family, and how their priorities shift and the entire way they view the world changes to accommodate that.

Also, I think people sometimes forget just how fast all the events in OP have been happening. It's been ten years for us, but the fact is, from the start of the series to the timeskip, Luffy is still 17 years old. And he's the most stable in his mindset during that whole of the entire crew, I think, which never bothered me. But Marineford changed that, it changed him, and put on the series' actual timeline and considering the events up until that point, I think that was reasonable development and shows him not to be static at all. And I think his extended flashback did a hell of a lot towards going to show us where that indomitable will and unflagging optimism came from, although obviously he always had it to a certain extent. :)a

...Well, that got away from me; that was more than I was meaning to say, and more incoherent, as well. Where was I? Oh yeah, snippets of reaction about post-timeskip. >>

The fake Straw Hats are hilarious, Nami is gorgeous and also a stone-cold badass and her hair is growing on me. Usopp is manly and STILL cute at the same time, and also badass. Sanji is a FREAKING DERP and I LOVE HIM and his wild, 2-years deprived pervertism and longing for His Girls and his oh-so-mature gratitude (XD) and moodswings and such. XD I also love his redesign, and I love that he's the one who we're shown coming across Zoro.

But back to that in a minute. Franky's redesign still has me mildly D:, although not as much as before and if Pi's prediction that he's somehow a transformer (even more than before with the centaur thing XD) is true, I will be quite :D. That aside, though, I still love him as much as ever, because he's still Franky and still SUPERRRRRR!! Robin is beautiful and very secret-agenty, and I love that we got those moments with the two of them. Chopper-I chose to believe until it's proven otherwise that the hat he got from Hiluluk is just jammed under the other one he's wearing. :| Because the one brim is pink. Either that or it's been incorporated somehow, because there is no way it can't be. DD: Right? And fffff, I don't know what I think about him mistaking the fakes for his real nakama, it's stretching my suspension of disbelief a little bit. >_>a Then again, it is Chopper...

I'm worried about Brook. ...I mean, not really, as if for whatever reason he wouldn't re-join the crew, of course I don't really believe he wouldn't, but we've seen so little of him-I guess Oda has just been good about upping my curiosity on that score and throwing in a dash of anxiety.

Who is the new Fleet Admiral? If it's not Aokiji I'll be very lineface, but what with not naming who it is explicitly, and the fact that he's known for 'lazy Justice', I'm a little concerned that he wasn't chosen, despite Sengoku's recommendation. ...If it's Akainu I may explode in a fit of RAAAAAAEG. 8|

LUFFY. Oh my god, so much love, with the constant reiterations of 'I'm not going to marry you' to stop Hancock's wild fantasies in their tracks every time (although not completely, apparently XDD, oh Hancock you derp), and the 'Haha, oh that-I never say good-bye to anyone! :D' ♥♥♥, and the haki, omfg aksljkfljdsf!!! SO BADASS. *___* With him knocking people senseless with sheer force of will and Zoro cutting ships in half-can we all say 'PARALLELS'?? I THINK WE CAN. 8D

Which, of course, brings me to Zoro. >.> ...I thought I flailed enough over him last entry, but, but. That was before I actually read the chapter, and I can feel the flail trying to burst through my fingertips and onto the screen yet again...!! I'll attempt to refrain. But ffffff OMG so awesommmmme *____*

Ah-hem. Anyway.

Zoro...I do have a few more in-depth thinky thoughts on him because obviously I need to get a grasp on his character and how he's changed in order to play him, and even the snippets that we have so far have been relevatory and a good reminder of Who He Is. /tries to adjust accordingly

XD How much love do I have for the fact that he still gets lost? And so epically, lolol. I never seriously thought that was going to be cured, even though he got there first, and yay, vindication. As for getting there first-maa. :|a The way I see it, it's not as though he has the same level of trouble with directions when someone else is there pointing exactly where to go (although he may still have some XD), and that's pretty much what the Vivre Card does. So even if he wasn't guided back to Sabaody by someone else, I don't have a problem with it.

But ffff, yes. 'Got on the wrong ship,' indeed. And wouldn't wake up even though someone was screaming at him. XDD Oh Zoro ♥. I love that Sanji just goes >8|| THAT FUCKING MORON. ...Oh well, he'll be fine, we'll just catch up to him-now back to those fish you were gonna sell me...XDD And then 'Oh so he came back...Not that I care." SURE, SANJI. SUUUUURE.

...And ahaaaah, Zoro's logic has totally been influenced by Mihawk, it seems-or just pushed to the extreme. Silly pirates. It's your own fault if your ship accidentally acquires a sleeping Zoro and he destroys it, along with your dreams, for inconveniently starting to take him to Fishman Island-nice. XD ...Although I can see it, really, just extrapolating from his general attitude toward the world and happenings in it pre-timeskip. It's his 'that's just the way things have turned out, deal with it' thing to the extreme. He's not a guy without compassion-intro, hello-but he certainly doesn't have much sympathy for people who choose a path for themselves, commit to it, and then whinge about unfairness when things don't go the way they'd wanted. That's the way life works, folks.

And also, it's other pirates. It was kinda cold, yeah, sure, but-Sanji, for one, had no qualms about it, and the rest of the Straw Hats-except maybe Chopper?-would most definitely have the same 'meh, who cares?' non-reaction, I think. XD Because they are ALSO PIRATES, and they do tend to just casually stomp on idiots who get in their way. Anyway, I doubt he would've pulled the same stunt if it had been a passenger ship full of civilians. Who. Would've had no business being on a coated ship heading under the Red Line for the New World, anyway, so it's not really an issue. >_>a

I'm kind of taken with the philosophical/poetical way he basically put 'Sucks to be you, deal with it', though. XDD That kind of speech also sounds influenced by Mihawk, but again-not uncharacteristic for Zoro, either. He uses that same sort of meditative, spiritual talk fairly often when he's preparing his attacks, and it reminded me of when the Rocketman was flying toward Enies Lobby and he just went 'Leave it...to luck.'

Okay, that's all I have to say on that for now.

Lastly, the shitstorm of wank on rpanoncomm about the Luceti One Piece cast has been battering my muse a little more every time I get a notification for the next piece of logic fail, self-righteous, unfounded judgmentalism, overreacting about white knighting when there IS no white knighting going on, 'the hype for this cast is overrated', 'any reasonable attempt at discussion is overblown, attention-whoring defensiveness and clearly they generate the wank themselves, omg they turn me off so hard', 'they're a clique because they don't post on d_m enough' (WTF??!), etc etc etc.

I'm tired of it, it leads to nowhere except killing my inspiration for playing my character when I have a lot of awesome threads I should be catching up on, and I think I'm with KJ and I'm going to just stop following the comm altogether. Which is a shame because sometimes there can be interesting discussions in the One Piece thread, and recently I like learning about the casts in other games and hearing from the more general OP roleplaying community, but it's just not worth it with so many anons who just stir up wank.

If people want to tell me something about the way I play they can hit up my HMD.
