Patriotism

So it’s Memorial Day. A time to remember our veterans, the patriots of America. The patriots that revolted all those long years ago against bloody England and won. The problem that is pissing me off today is too much fake patriotism out there. Everybody has been so gun hoe since 9/11, they are all conforming to the mold trying to become American. A lot of them are being patriotic out of fear of being persecuted by others or are just brain washed by the bush propaganda that has been flooding the media. These day’s if you go against bush’s ideas, you are labeled unpatriotic, and in some cases labeled as a terrorist. Just look at the Pro-choice protest that went on in April. One of the people in the Bush administration compared the protesters to terrorists. WTF! America was founded on the idea of protesting. There’s our right to a peaceful protest. Since when were we ever told that if we protested the ideas of policies that we would be terrorists. Our government has told us since we were little kids that if we don’t like something, we can grow up and change it. Doesn’t look like that’s going to happen anytime soon. What a waste. One patriotic thing to do is be able to protest, but as I said before, the conservatives are calling protestors un-American. Well screw them, you can still protest and be a patriot. Succumbing to the fake patriotism that American has been showing can only harm us. So if you want to protest, continue protesting, its your legal patriotic right as an American.

Anyway, there’s my 2 cents.
