How to get on Dreamwidth (by popular request)
On the main page click "Login with OpenID" and then use [your username].livejournal.com as your login. After that, validate an email.
I believe that after Apr 30, all validated OpenID accounts will get an invite code. Here is a list of other ways to get a full Dreamwidth account.

One of the things I enjoy about Dreamwidth is that instead of having "friends," you can grant access to a group of people, and then choose to read a bunch of journals. The journals you follow don't have to belong to the people to whom you've granted access. This is particularly useful if you want to read an interesting journal owned by someone with whom you aren't personally acquainted.
If you're one of my LJ friends and you follow my journal on Dreamwidth, I'll be happy to grant you access. Then you'll be able to comment using your OpenID.
