That's music to my ears, to use a cliche. But if they have any inkling of that frame of mind, why would they keep you around? Surely they'd want you somewhere where you could do the least amount of damage to them. Home seems a decent place, since you want to go there yourself. And if it's as dangerous as they claim, it would be a good way to get rid of you, too.

I have no idea, to be honest. They might have some long-term plan in mind for me, or they might think my simply being here could benefit them. Hell if I know in the end, since I know they won't give me an answer. So I just have to sit and wait, I guess.

Think they've started some sort of off-world offensive action? Maybe against your world?

I hate waiting. Particularly the passive variety. Never been terribly good at it. You look like you can probably handle yourself, but if you need backup of the fanged variety, or the rather messy variety, let me know. I've also got a char-monster I could let loose, most likely. Back-up's never a bad thing.

Not likely. I'm more worried about what they could do with the things from it.

It is a bitch. And I'll keep it in mind, but forgive me if I ever seem hesitant, since I've been burned in the past for trusting someone.

Is it possible, perhaps, that they're afraid your people will realize that they're not as powerful and will attack the MDEA through their own portal? Hm. This thing has more twists than the labyrinth.

Trust is something people earn, though to be truly safe you never trust anyone fully. Still have to give people the chance to prove themselves. The offer still stands.

That probably won't happen. I really don't know what they're planning or why I'm stuck here, but I don't like it either way. And since I haven't been able to hack into the databases yet, I've got nothing.

Thanks, I'll keep it in mind.
