Sorry for the pseudo-lateness of this information, there wasn't much I could do about it.

The memorial service was held on July 19th at the Davis Funeral Chapel. I found out about it (much like everyone else) approximately 10 minutes before it was to start and missed all but the last 30 seconds of it. From what Greg told me and my own observations, it was a Buddhist ceremony with a monk chanting for half an hour. Being there with other crying people and seeing his body made everything very real, if that makes any sense.
The funeral will be held on July 29th at noon. People will congregate at the Davis Funeral Chapel and (I assume) later take Derek to the cemetery.
