Are you sure it's English? And not just Roman letters?

No! Here...

[He displays the book to the communicator. Yea, it's English.]

And you forgot how to read it...?

Are you sure you ever knew how to read English in the first place?

THEN AGAIN! I could have forgotten also that I couldn't read it!

Maybe you know how to speak it? Reading is different.

And calm down! Flipping out won't do any good!

[Voice; English]

If you can understand this, then you haven't forgotten English, if you can't, you either never knew it to begin with, or perhaps forgot it. I think it's more you never knew it, or knew it well.

I am trying, but this is a matter of the utmost importance!!!

[Voice;English]

Ahhh.... Yes, I do understand. This is quite strange.

I don't see why your English skills are that important.

Fine, try and write something on a piece of paper in English and show it to me. Why am I bothering with this lunatic?

Ah... perhaps that will work.... good idea...

[There's a deathly long pause.]

WHAT IS MY NAME?!

kan_chyan July 1 2009, 19:44:18 UTC
...

Itoshiki Nozomu....

zetsubo_sensei July 1 2009, 19:51:35 UTC
Oh yes.... Now I remember

Ah.... [There's another pause.]

Is this correct?

[Itoshiki has it written vertically in Japanese, then beside it he has written "Eetochicy Mosumo"]

kan_chyan July 1 2009, 19:57:08 UTC
No, it's completely wrong. Though, maybe it almost makes the same sounds.

Here, it's written like this:

I T O S H I K I space N O Z O M U

[Kantarou was writing out as he was speaking each letter. He then picks up the paper and shows it to the camera.]

Like that.

Itoshiki Nozomu...

I-T-O-S-H-I-K-I space N-O-Z-O-M-U

[He pauses again.]

[He writes the letters out... but they all look like some kanji or another--only his I's are written normally]

Is that correct?

kan_chyan July 1 2009, 20:20:51 UTC
No. Try and write it exactly as I wrote it.

zetsubo_sensei July 1 2009, 20:23:55 UTC
Ahhh.... right...

[He's forgotten, hold on while he makes a few mistakes]

I L O S I K I [space] N O Z O N U

[If it helps, as he wrote the letters, he SAID the right name]
