Dum de dum

It's weird how time goes by really, really quickly when you're doing absolutely nothing. Well, not absolutely nothing, but nothing much. Ashley came and visited for a couple days at the beginning of break before she headed back to D-town. It was, as always, a pleasure seeing her again. We went to see King Kong and got a private escort out of the movie (thanks to Ashley's tendency to acquire boy toys at virtually every place she goes). Ashley taught me to knit, so I've been uber-domestic and am currently a couple feet into a rather sad looking scarf. *shrug*

Other than that, nothing too thrilling has been happening. I've read a couple books (Katy-I'm about half way through So Far from God and enjoying it immensely), watched a lot of movies, and finished Veronica Mars. I came out to my parents (not voluntarily), which was somewhat amusing... sort of. Next week I'm going into Boston to see the Ansel Adams exhibit, which should be really cool. I've also been begging Hollywood Video to hire me over the summer so that I don't have to go back to Papa Gino's. They already know me, since I was in there like every other day last summer. Maybe I should start looking into Boston internships...

Oh! And I made friends! In Franklin! Exciting, I know. My sister set up a dinner today with her friend and her friend's older sister, who's a sophomore at Villanova. I figured it would be extremely awkward (as most things in my life are), but it was actually fun and then Niki invited me over to hang out with her and a few friends at her friend's house. So, I met three of her friends and we sat around talking (well, I mostly just listened and laughed and made a witty remark every once in a while to show I was paying attention and not having a completely horrible time) and drank some wine (well, neither Niki or I drank, because we were driving) and watched Sex and the City (well, no one actually watched it, it was just on in the background... in fact, they ran one episode twice). I'm sure they thought I was really awkward, but it was actually quite fun. I was even invited over for New Year's Eve. I'm not sure if it was a legit offer, or just being polite since they were talking about it while I was there, but two of the four girls already friended me on facebook, so they couldn't have thought it went that badly. Anyway, it would beat sparkling apple cider with my dad and mom (if she actually stays awake this year... normally she just goes to bed after the ball drops in New York, but that used to be at 10... I don't know what she'll do now). Anyway, that was kinda cool.
