Fridays always suck. Why?

You know the day is going to be hell when your plans fall apart before 9am. I'm supposed to be at the zoo today with L'il zet and the friend she made at swim class but I'm in the office instead. We were sitting outside of the zoo waiting for "Betty" and her mom "Veronica" when Mr. zet called needing me to come in to the office. We've already had calls from two customers on their way to get paint (no appointment! Arrgghh!) and the freight company called wanting to deliver a shipment that we expected after the weekend. On top of that Boy Employee needs a ride to the airport at 11. I don't mind, because this is the kind of crap that comes up when you own your own business. "Veronica" on the other hand, was fairly shitty about the whole thing. I had to call her to break the news ( she was 30 minutes late) and she was NOT understanding. I know she was dreading telling "Betty" because that kid is spoiled beyond belief. Veronica has to bribe Betty (aged 5) to do everything, and you've never heard anyone scream like that kid when she doesn't get her way. When we had a playdate last week Betty started hitting and screaming at her mom when it was time for us to go- and her mother kept APOLOGIZING to HER. For what? All playdates end, kid. It's life. Not at Betty's house apparently.

I apologized profusely to the mother and she never really accepted the apology. She wanted me to leave L'il zet at the zoo and pick her up later from their house. This is a bad plan for several reasons; not the least of which being that I DON'T KNOW YOU LADY! What kind of whackjob would give their kid to someone you don't know? WTF? Even if I did know her I wouldn't really go for that plan because what if more stuff comes up today? I have no idea when I'd be able to pick her up. Then she wanted me to call her back to try and arrange something for this afternoon (sorry, I have prior appointments from 3 o'clock onward). Since that wouldn't fly she wants to do something tomorrow. Good grief- it's like we're being stalked. I'd really rather cut this off now because I don't like the kid and the mom is kind of freaking me out.

I am enjoying driving the Honda Pilot, though. It's very cushy (leather!) and rides much smoother than the Element. It's way better than the Civic but I definately don't want one. I guess it has a better engine than the Element too because I keep suddenly finding myself doing 95 without realizing it. I absolutely should not have one of these as a full time driver.

The great news is that at 4 this afternoon I'll be back to blue!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
