So today I woke up at 3am
So I could drive over to P's to wake her up. We had nice snuggle and even though I didn't want to, she was late for work. I stayed there reading a book about the AT (Appalachian Trail). I envisioned being so engrossed (or falling asleep) and missing my interview. Luckily, I got going in time and made it to the interview fine. Turns out it's near where my Dad worked for practically his whole career. Despite what my coworker who also interviewed there said, I thought it went very well. I think I enjoy interviewing because you get to meet other people. They are interviewing some more folks and will call back next week (?) for 2nd interviews. This one is the position that is mostly evenings, this would be hard on me for my son but would allow me the opportunity to work on a 2nd masters with tuition remission. This appeals to me very much. The first interview was for a small private business school which while not glamorous would allow me to learn many things and give me an opportunity to take their technology (networking and etc) classes. I think after 2-3 years I could apply and interview very well for other academic positions and get that free dependent child tution for my son (if he so chooses to attend college). If I did get a perm job I think I'd want to do something to celebrate (and spend a little of my savings, pay off balance of student loan). I think I'd probably still like to maintain at least 6 months income in liquid savings. After paying off the student loan, I'd probably really only have $1k to play with...hmmm...not sure even what I'd want to do...maybe new clothes except I don't want to buy new clothes 'cause I'd rather lose weight. Maybe I'd get a cleaning service? GRIN and a gym membership....aaahhh.. the dreams of a "permanently" employed woman!
I probably should get some work done....
I won't get home until 10pm and then I want to pack for the weekend. I work tomorrow 8-4 but then I'm off!
