I'm so sick and tired of the idealistic vision of beauty that modern society forces on young women these days! Why is it that we all have to be so perfect? Tan, thin, blonde and beautiful, its not right.
You know what really irks me though? When your friends start ragging on you because you don't fit the cookie-cutter version that the media churns out. I'm sorry, but I think a real friend shouldn't point out how your stomach isn't as tight as theirs, or how you aren't as tan as they are. Just because I don't have skin thats carmel colored and smooth doesn't mean that I'm any less beautiful. I'm so tired of hearing the words "You're so white!" and "Jesus, you need a tan."
Yeah, this seems like a small thing, but I'm so tired of the backhanded compliment.
"Oh your so pretty. You're so white and curvy."
Ugh, please, just stop. So I don't fit the model mold. And I'd seriously appreciate it if the people who I thought liked me for more than just my looks would stop criticizing me in every way, shape and form.
Ok, well, that was my rant for the day.
