I suppose it's the ultimate quiz...

So I was logging into my computer this morning at the hospital when my homepage revealed a link to take an online IQ test. And I was like... eh, why not? I took the test at Test Cafe, which I picked randomly. The score I got was pretty consistent with previous results from other tests, though I've never taken the official one hour battery.

Of course, it's probably good if the results page from an IQ test has correct grammar. :)

Congratulations!
Your general IQ score is 139.

A person whose IQ score falls in the range of 129-143 is considered to be "highly intelligent".
An IQ is a composite of your scores across 12 distinct aspects of intelligence. Each person has a unique intellectual make-up, with strengths and weaknesses that affect their methods of understanding, recognition, communication and association. Using a carefully cross-reference scoring scheme, TestCafe is able to accumulate a profound quantity of information about your natural intellectual abilities.

In other news, I've decided to stay in my apartment in Columbia. Several reasons.
a) The money I had for a down payment was better used to pay off $40k in student loans whose interest rate just nearly doubled in the last 6 months.
b) I really like the location of Columbia and Howard County in general, especially the convenience to both work and DC/Baltimore.
c) I have a really nice, third floor apartment that's a relatively decent rent given the location and proximity to I-95.

I've spent the last week slaving over the place, choosing furniture, hanging pictures, decorating and re-decorating. The apartment's just about finished; the only finishing touches it needs are a TV, some of the things that I've got stored in NJ, and to be lived in for a length of time. Unfortunately/fortunately I keep getting side-tracked but I'm hoping to have more time to spend in my apartment in the upcoming months. labgoddess swung by last night and got a sneak preview of the place prior to the finishing touches (in exchange for helping to assemble IKEA furniture) - I'll put many pictures up once it's finished and the housewarming party has been held. Look for that sometime in late February/early March.

Work's going decently considering how few hours I've put in recently. I've taken a lot of positive steps in the last week, and I just need to sit down and polish the rest. That being said, the polish is the majority of the grunt work and I really do need to put time into it. Ah well.

World of Warcraft - I'm level 52 now! If I actually make it to 60, WoW will be the third game I make it into the 'end-game' in (first was SWG, second was CoH). I keep trying to get to 60 so I can un-mothball my other chars and play with my brother, sirlyric, and labgoddess... but recent events have really put a damper on my game time. And I mean it's not a bad thing... but I do miss it. I don't know.

It was awesome getting to Nation last Thursday! elengul's birthday was the reason I went, but I realized quickly just how much I had missed it. Not only for a regular outing and catharsis, but dancing forms a staple of my physical fitness maintainence. And it was *amazing* to see so many faces! Like I told him at the end of the night, I haven't seen us dominate a dance floor since my college days. It was sorely missed, nostalgic, and amazingly fun.

Anyway, I should do some work! Welcome, 2006. :-P
