There are stories that I've written that came so easily. It's like I was struck by lightening, totally inspired and unable to help whatever pours onto the pages. And I usually love what I've written, it's like the idea came to me prepackaged and nigh perfect.
Then there are times where every sentence is like pulling teeth. I write it, go back to edit and then re-edit, and I'm never completely satisfied with the finished product. The story doesn't flow as smoothly.
The thing is, most fiction I've written has involved both methods. Some scenes are completely inspired, and I have to connect them the best I can, adding filler.
But if a story is difficult to write from the very beginning, is it worth writing? It's frustrating when I have a really good idea but have trouble executing it.
Hrmmm...
