Following a question from tvor I’ve typed out the 30 “cinemas best kept secrets” list from Empire. I don’t agree with it - but if anyone has a lost classic they want to point me at - be my guest.
i saw the taking of peckham 123 a few years ago... it happened to be just starting on channel four as i sat down flipping through channels looking for something to watch. there wasn't anything else on, so i decided to watch the film - i'm glad i did as i really enjoyed it. meet the feebles is hilarious - peter jackson is my friend james-the-film-buff's favourite director, and i spent hours and hours with him at the video shop where he worked watching peter jackson and kevin smith movies.
i think you'll like kissed... other films i really like are requiem for a dream [no other film has ever left me staring at the screen while the credits rolled, unsure of what to do], withnail & i, the labyrinth, fight club, beavis and butthead do america [ahem], um... and probably others i can't remember off the top of my head. but i suppose you've probably seen most of them :)
sometimes i really like seeing films that are based on books i've read, as its nice to see someone else's interpretation... but often i'm really disappointed by the films as they lose a lot of the original intention/meaning [eg. crash, a clockwork orange].
p.s. thanks for worrying... i just really don't want to talk to/see anyone at the moment which is why i disabled comments. thanks for your good wishes though.
