Showboat Atlantic City + House Of Blues Review

May 21, 2012 03:42

"This review is for both The Showboat & The House Of Blues. I originally stayed there from May 3rd, 2012-May 5th, 2012. For the Marilyn Manson show at The House Of Blues.

*The Showboat- Originally when I booked the room through Kayak for this hotel {I was staying in the Orleans Tower}, I was told VIA Kayak on their checkout screen that a deposit would be required. And that it could be paid with cash or credit. Upon checking in I was informed that the deposit must be paid via credit, which I refused. After all I was on a limited budget and did not want unnecessary charges on my card and had been told conflicting information. When I pressed the issue the cashier went to speak with the manager and told me that I did not need the deposit, but that all services would be cut off. That was perfectly fine with me, after all I did not really care/want the services anyway. However to my dismay internet was $10.99 per day. Which I thought was a ghastly amount of money for one day online.  I do understand that this is a casino and that they gouge. Normally it  would not be a problem but since I was there for a few days it was a bit of an annoyance especially since I could not find another place that provided WiFi with in walking range and that was free such as a  Panera Bread or other such similar place. I was also informed at check in that I must get a rewards card with $100.00 or more in order to gamble at all in the casino. Which I later found out was BS from the front desk as a friend played poker for the night. Kayak also claimed that children where not allowed at this venue, but was not the case upon checking. The children that I did see where not a problem at all."
