So, in lieu of waiting for Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty to be released (which, perhaps, will get me back into gaming full swing), I decided to replay the original and Brood War.
Ten years ago, when I wasn't on QuakeWorld Team Fortress or the HL port (TFC), there was my casual battle.net gameplay. Man, did I dislike Zerg for many reasons. For one, I really sucked playing as them (both single and multiplayer).
In single player, I really loathed building a swarm of Hydralisks and Zerglings and then getting them annihilated by either Protoss Reavers, damn Psionic Storms from the Templars (That one mission in Brood War where it disables air units was a pain); or from the Terrans, getting wiped by deployed Siege Tanks and Irradiate from the Sci Vessels. Sure, I could do the Guardian/Mutalisk combo or Ultralisk/Mutalisk, but it takes too long when trying to do that timed mission in the Zerg campaign where you have to destroy the Protoss base in 25 minutes to get the bonus mission.
In multiplayer, with the Zerg, if you ask me, it's like "Oh, look at me, I'm so skilled doing a Zergling rush." It does work though, I'll give it that. Then again, I did prefer games that allowed some build time (5-10 min. usually; did this with C&C: Red Alert as well).
What can I say though, I do like the Marine (w/ Stimpack)/Medic combo along with Siege Tank/Dropship combo. So I was primarily a Terran player, but I do like Protoss as well.
