Aimee would ask for a kiss and Hiro would reluctantly comply. It wasn't that he didn't love her -- because he did -- it was just that he didn't like public displays of affection.
He also didn't like private displays of affection, only because of her, he would go through with it whether he wanted to or not.
And the sex, well. Kissing and hugging was enough for him. When Aimee would ask why they couldn't or why he wouldn't (and especially why she couldn't at least just spend the night), he'd tell her it was because of religion.
Religion was Hiro's excuse for most of the things he did and, boy, it was easy to believe him.
A man who does a Hail Mary before walking through any door he goes through is easy to believe when personal preference because of religion is the case.
So, Aimee never complained (and when she did, it was only for a moment) and Hiro never gave in. But he made up for it during the moonlit dinners with the candles on the roof of the Miyaro Group building and the bouquet roses on her desk the next morning.
