Dark Souls - Enemy Soul Weapon Fusion Guide

Oct 13, 2011 02:04

To make any one of these, you need an appropriate weapon upgraded to +10 (which requires 9 titanite shards, like 9 or 10 large titanite shards, and Andrei to have the Large Ember), the Boss soul and a visit to the Giant Blacksmith in Anor Londo. Note that each of these can be upgraded to +5 using Demon Titanite.

Soul of the Moonlight Butterfly
Moonlight Butterfly Horn
Derived from: Mail Breaker, Rapier, Estoc, Ricard's Rapier, Spear, Winged Spear, Partizan, Pike
Weight: 4
Durability: 160
Required stats for 1H: 12 STR, 14 INT
Damage: 110 magic, +5 165 magic
Scales with: INT B
For a pure sorcerer, I'd guess this is probably your best choice of weapon. I don't make sorcerers, so I can't give my own .02 though.

Crystal Ring Shield
Derived from: virtually any shield
Weight: 3
Durability: 120
Required stats: 10 STR
Damage: 100 magic, +5 150 magic
Scales with: nothing.
Reduces 70% physical, 90% magic, 70% fire and 40% lightning. 40 stability is low. Parry gets a projectile attack. I wouldn't use this, but that's just me.

Soul of Quelaag
Quelaag's Furysword
Derived from: Scimitar, Falchion, Shotel, Painting Guardian Sword, Server, Murakumo
Weight: 3.5
Durability: 600
Required stats for 1H: 11 STR, 13 DEX
Damage: 60 physical 180 fire, +5 90 physical 270 fire
Scales with: STR E, DEX B, Humanity?
Awesome DEX based sword. Fast and awesome. I highly recommend this sword. Even if you don't use it, make it for Ornstein & Smough.

Chaos Blade
Derived from: Uchigatana, Washing Pole, Iaito
Weight: 6
Durability: 120
Required stats for 1H: 16 STR, 14 DEX
Damage: 133, +5 199
Scales with: DEX B
You lose 20hp every time you connect with this sword. Bleed buildup is 36 per strike (2nd highest bleed effect of any weapon.) I haven't used this personally, simply because Quelaag's is so awesome.

Core of an Iron Golem
Dragon Bone Fist
Derived from: Caestus, Claw
Weight: 8
Durability: 999 (!)
Required stats for 1H: 20 STR
Damage: 90, +5 135
Scales with: STR A
This weapon is awesome for STR builds. Look at the scaling. A! It scales at A! That's righteous. It also does a shoryuken on RT. The bad news is that it's a fist, so you have no range whatsoever. Attack speed is kinda slow as well. Either way, I'd take this over the Golem Axe.

Golem Axe
Derived from: Hand axe, Battle axe, Butcher knife, Gargoyle tail axe, Greataxe, Demon's Greataxe
Weight: 16
Durability: 600
Required stats for 1H: 36 STR, 8 DEX
Damage: 155, +5 232
Scales with: STR C, DEX E
This axe is interesting in that the 1H RT attack creates a wind sphere that does magic damage. Insane 1H requirements and poor scaling make it seem underpowered, but I haven't used it so I can't say.

Soul of Ornstein
Dragonslayer Spear
Derived from: Mail breaker, Rapier, Estoc, Ricard's rapier, Spear, Winged spear, Partizan, Pike
Weight: 10
Durability: 300
Required stats for 1H: 24 STR, 24 DEX
Damage: 90 physical 60 lightning, +5 135 physical 90 lightning
Scales with: STR C, DEX B
RT while 1H shoots a lightning bolt. RT while 2H does the stab and upward thrust combo that Ornstein killed you with twice. Good scaling as well. I haven't used this, but I intend to!

Soul of Smough
Smough's Hammer
Derived from: Club, Mace, Morningstar, Warpick, Pickaxe, Reinforced club, Blacksmith hammer, Great club, Demon's great hammer, Large club
Weight: 28
Durability: 600
Required stats for 1H: 58 STR
Damage: 275, +5 412
Scales with: STR D
I feel like this weapon is almost a joke. Poor scaling and insane requirements. It's also ugly as sin. However, considering Smough is much easier to kill alone than Ornstein, you'll probably get this like I did. Have fun!

Soul of Sif
Greatsword of Artorias
Derived from: Pretty much any sword. Longswords, greatswords, even daggers are fine.
Weight: 10
Durability: 400
Required stats for 1H: 24 STR, 18 DEX, 18 INT, 18 Faith
Damage: 158, +5 237
Scales with: STR C, DEX C, INT C, Faith C
Note that this version is cursed, so you can rough up ghosts with it. I haven't used this, so if anyone can give me feedback I'll edit it in.

True Greatsword of Artorias
Derived from: Broken Straight Sword, Straight Sword Hilt
Weight: 10
Durability: 400
Required stats for 1H: 24 STR, 18 DEX, 20 INT, 20 Faith
Damage: 120 physical 85 magic, +5 180 physical 127 magic
Scales with: STR C, DEX C, INT B, Faith B
There's no question that this is the best weapon in the game - however, to get it to that point, you're talking crazy NG+. When you're level ~200/300 and have high stats in every stat this scales with, the potential for damage is absolutely ridiculous. It's not particularly good when your stats are just enough to wield it, however - I put it away in favor of Quelaag's Furysword.

Greatshield of Artorias
Derived from: Shields.
Weight: 16
Durability: 600
Required stats: 34 STR
Damage: 80
Scales with: STR D
Reduces 100% of physical, 50% of magic, 80% of fire, 40% of lightning. 88 stability is the highest of any shield that's not in the crystal family. In short, it's this or Havel's for best shield in the game - however, you MIGHT not want to use such a heavy shield, and that's your decision/build.

Soul of Gwyndolin
Darkmoon Bow
Derived from: Bows (not crossbows)
Weight: 1
Durability: 400
Required stats: 7 STR, 16 DEX, 16 Faith
Damage: 80 physical 80 magic, +5 120 physical 120 magic
Scales with: STR E, DEX D, Faith D
Haven't used this one, but strongest stats of any bow. Shot range a little less than Pharis. If you're a cleric, though, this is probably great for PvE.

Tin Darkmoon Catalyst
Derived from: Catalysts
Weight: 1
Durability: 60
Required stats: 4 STR, 16 Faith
Damage: 44
Scales with: STR E, Faith A
I don't understand this one at all, for two reasons. Number one, I don't use sorcery, so I have no frame of reference. Number two, it scales with Faith. Someone please let me know why this doesn't suck.

Soul of Priscilla
Lifehunt Scythe
Derived from: Halberd, Lucerne, Scythe, Gargoyle's Halberd, Great Scythe, Whip, Notched Whip
Weight: 6
Durability: 100
Required stats for 1H: 16 STR, 14 DEX
Damage: 165, +5 247
Scales with: STR E, DEX B
Best bleeding effect of any weapon. It does 50 bleeding per strike (40 in PvP) and once built up does 50% of enemy's health in damage. Most bleeding weapons only do 30%, so that's pretty staggering. Good DEX scaling as well. UNFORTUNATELY! The moveset on this one is pretty awful. That's the deal, I suppose.

Soul of THE FINAL BOSS THAT SHALL NOT BE NAMED
Great Lord Greatsword
Derived from: Daggers - Greatswords and everything in between
Weight: 8
Durability: 400
Required stats for 1H: 20 STR, 10 DEX
Damage: 231, +5 346
Scales with: STR D, DEX D
Haven't used it, but poor scaling makes it seem not worth it.
