Scots Officials Claim Obama Administration Asked Them To Free Lockerbie Bomber
According to Severin Carrell, Scotland correspondent of the Guardian, in an article published just today (http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2010/jul/25/barack-obama-megrahi-release-lockerbie)
The US grudgingly supported freeing the Lockerbie bomber on compassionate grounds.
The letter was sent to Scottish ministers by a senior diplomat at the US embassy in London last August, eight days before Abdelbaset al-Megrahi was released from prison because he was dying from inoperable prostate cancer.
It is now known, of course, that al-Megrahi, who murdered 270 innocent people -- mostly Americans, British and Scots -- in pursuit of the aggressive designs of his leader, the mad Libyan dictator Muammar Kaddafi, has made a miraculous recovery from his "incurable prostate cancer," and it now appears that al-Megrahi's release was part of a corrupt deal in exchange for oil purchase rights.
