Former terrorist Walid Shoebat, reveals disturbing contradictions between Ground Zero mosque founder Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf’s English statements and his Arabic comments. There's no victory or defeat unless seen through selective symbolism or superstition. What this amounts to is another Mosque in New York.

They could have a mosque anywhere in NY where the law allows for it. They chose to put it *there*, deliberately, as a symbol of conquest and to spit in our faces as a country.

I understand the possible meanings here. However what I have a problem with is that there should be some basis for rejection here; Should a building be denied on a symbolic and superstitious basis? That type of barbaric law-making is more suited to Islamic law.

That is the crux of the matter, yes. And the great difficulty. I don't know that there's a legal way around it either.

Maybe if there was some way to designate Islam as not a religion but a political ideology? Or to come at the issue along the lines of national security? I don't know if that would be helpful. I wish I was knowledgeable about the law in this regard, but I'm not.

Neither am I. The way I see it is there is special protections on religion that grants special rights. Individuals and militia groups no matter how few or many or what they call themselves need to be dealt with "as is".
