In This River

So I was listening to Black Label Society's "In This River" hence the title. There were something able the lyrics that made me think about all my friends, old and new.

"I've been around this world, yet I see no end
All shall fade to black again and again
This storm that's broken me, my only friend
Yeah"

I have moved all over this land we call the United States and I have made from ocean to ocean, But it seems that no matter how big the storm was, they were always there to help me out and show me the light when I didn't want to accept it.

"In this river all shall fade to black
In this river ain't no coming back
In this river all shall fade to black
Ain't no coming back"

Chorus is pretty straight forward, no matter what happens the past is still the past. Nothing will have change that fact. It isn't going to get any better suffer over it.

"Withdrawn a step away just to find myself
The door is closed again, the only one left
This storm that's broken me, my only friend
Yeah"

Ok, now here is where you decide on what he means. To me, it means that I'll always be alone but it doesn't matter how alone I am cause I have friends who will stay by my side until I die.

"In this river all shall fade to black
In this river ain't no coming back
In this river all shall fade to black

In this river all shall fade to black
In this river ain't no coming back
In this river all shall fade to black
Ain't no coming back

In this river all shall fade to black
In this river ain't no coming back
In this river all shall fade to black

In this river all shall fade to black
In this river ain't no coming back
In this river all shall fade to black
Ain't no coming back"

Now that last part just repeats itself due to they are trying to make a point. If you watch the video, it is a tribute to a friend of theirs who passed away. So to my friends of old, who are rest in the afterlife and my friends of new, who are a pain in my ass. Lets walk together down this road called life.
