[Normally, Lelouch is an extremely calm and collected individual, able to handle most things thrown at him without thinking twice about his course of action. He had always been like that, from an early age he took the bull by the horns and never looked back - he was never one to plan ahead, never one to handle things until his life depended on it ( Read more... )

[Franziska may not like Lelouch, not after how foolishly he acted before the Police Banquet, but her tone is unusually calm and polite for once. This must be a very serious matter.]

Miles Edgeworth will need to speak with you. Immediately.

[After their last conversation (which happened to be prior to her own death), Franziska is one of the last people that Lelouch wishes to speak with right now... but her tone catches him off guard, he's not used to her speaking with a sense of decorum about her.]

Is there no information you can give me before I speak with him?

I am not a part of this particular investigation. [Which should at least provide Lelouch with a small hint of just what needs to be said.]

...But yes, I could. Though I don't believe you would be pleased with what I would have to say.

Not a part of this investigation? But--

[Why wouldn't she be part of this investigation? She sticks her nose into everything in Somarium...

And then it hits him, by "this particular investigation" she means the investigation into her death, Cosette's death, and... Somebody else? Could she be implying that C.C. is the newest-- no, no she's immortal, that's not possible.]

You think that she's met the same fate you did last month?

It is a possibility. [An unpleasant one and one she would like to hope hasn't happened, but a possibility nonetheless.]

We had another report come in just minutes ago on another victim. In the Residental District.

[Lelouch grits his teeth, going back over the nature of the crimes committed against both Franziska and Cosette. The more he thought about it, the more C.C.'s disappearance fell in line with the events surrounding the other two murders... but a third victim? This was getting out of hand.]

The Residential District? Do you know where, exactly, within the district?

[It may not be her style, but Franziska's reactions to certain things regarding this case are very different than they used to be.]

I have heard men being called out to Broadway and Fifth.

Thank you, Franziska. [He hesitates, realizing he called her by her name (which she explicitly told him not to do)] I really do appreciate your help.

[She shrugs. Considering the trauma Franziska has been through and the effects that she still feels to this day from her own painful death, it isn't too surprising to hear that the young prosecutor's steady world has been shook to the core and her reactions considerably different than they had been before.

Franziska is not quite the same as she was a month ago.]

It is nothing. [And she will just cut the connection to give him time to move more quickly.]
