Greetings to all who still read this.
So, this last week has been so incredibly stressful.
First, just hours before leaving for Toulouse, France; I decided, after a long night of no sleep and drinking, to go down to the beach to watch the sunrise. Nobody would accompany me, so I went alone. Whoops.
After taking several photos and taking the beauty, a guy approached me and asked me for a cigarette. I said I didn´t bring them with me. Then he asked me where I was from. He told me he was from ::some place I don´t remember:: and I immediatly got suspicious because his castillian was thick with a catalan accent. Then, his friend suddenly appeared next to us. They told me they wanted to ¨teach me a dance¨ and grabbed on to my arms on either side of me. I was shouting ¨hey, hey!¨to try to get them off, but alas, I was glued, stuck spinning in circles with their legs kicking ridiculously in the air. I clung onto my messenger bag and to my opposite pocket which contained my cell phone. The guy on the left was not being discreet about trying to get into my left pocket, so as I focused all my attention on keeping my cell phone into my possession, the other was somehow able to get into my bag and gank my wallet. Figures. I had just withdrawn. I don´t even know why I had left my wallet in my bag, total fluke.
Finally, all the cards are canceled and I have some money in my pocket freshly wired from the US, but I don´t have my wallet back (which I had finally just purchased 3 weeks prior to replace the one lost in Novemeber). I also don´t have the photo of my niece, my drivers license, my student ID card, metro pass... it makes me sick. I put a severe damper on my impression of this city for a couple days.
So then we got on a bus to go to Toulouse. It was fun, despite learning that Mattheiu had a boyfriend. Oh well, there weren´t any real sparks this time anyway. It was a cool city. I did however become a bit overwhelmed when I had to go down to the basement of a gay club and ask for a drink by myself. The drink was sold out and I had to ask for another. All this, with about 1 cent of knowledge of French. Nobody in Toulouse speaks English either. I don´t know how I did that at 16 years in Mexico. Oh yeah, and then we missed our bus and had to stay an extra day.
Now we are finally moved into our VERY SPACIOUS apartment. The thing is huge. It´s really nice, better be, we´re paying a bundle. Unfortunately there is no internet, so I´m sitting here in this quaint internet cafe about 3 blocks from my new favourite building, La Sagrada Familia.
I´m gonna go home now, feet are hurting, I´m hungry. The girls are at the beach. I´m not in account of being totally fried in the face yesterday at the beach. It was so funny, I ended up laying out in just my skimpy little black lycra boy shorts. I know it wasn´t a pretty site, but oh well. You should have seen all the boobs. MORE BOOBS than I ever care to see.
I´m seeing about at least going to Rome for a couple days. I´ll try to keep y'all (couple of people) posted.
Miss you!
