What I've been up to lately

Yes, it's been a while, but my life has been consumed by 2 things - an inappropriately named botany class (it's called "Animal Field Biology" but about 80% of the class is spent talking about trees, while the other 20% are split between fungi and insects), and JOB APPLICATIONS. I never realized how time consuming this whole process was. Not only does it take a lot of time to write the perfect cover letter (especially for jobs I don't want but need to apply to anyway), but some of the government agencies ask for us NOT to contact them by phone or email, but just to sit and wait for a reply from them. That is SO NERVE WRACKING. I just sit and I wait until I get a no, of which I've gotten several. Now I'm working on the app for job that would be PERFECT for me, but since I'm going to Costa Rica in TWO WEEKS, I won't be around when they want someone to start their one-week trial period! AHHH!! And for those of you who know and appreciate my obsession with primates, it's a job working in a New World Monkey sanctuary in FL that rescues monkeys that were pets, illegally traded, abused, etc. This place is AMAZING because they aren't like a zoo - they are like a mini rain forest full of monkeys that live together in large outdoor communities. I am sacrificing my entire day today to this application package, and God willing I'll have it sent in by fax tonight and hopefully get an interview before I leave.

Speaking of leaving, I have also dedicated a great deal of time to getting my life together for CR, which is not easy! I have just about everything I need purchased, and now it's just a matter of getting it all organized together so I can pack it all in one little suitaces. I still need to make reservations for the hotel when I get there too! I feel so crazy, just constantly sunning around and trying to get an assignment done, get everything bought, organized, packed, move out of my apartment, etc etc. I have no breaks or down time and it's summer!! Grr!
