Yeah, so we've been gone from home for exactly a month. According to Google Maps, if we were to go straight on the interstate from Schenectady Cheyenne, we are currently, 1,745 miles away from home. Distance is nice. Now, if only I could detach the parts of my brain I don't like and mail them back home where they belong.
Speaking of which, this is what I'm missing out on back in Schenectady...
Body found in Schenectady.A body was found along railroad tracks along Altamont Avenue in Schenectady. The Schenectady Police Department and members of the Amtrak Police Department are investigating. Police say the body was found under the bridge over the tracks at Altamont Avenue. They say a cyclist riding on the bridge noticed the body. The identity and cause of death is unknown at this time. Autopsy results are pending.
I did graffiti under that bridge once.
Last night, I watched a cheesy romantic comedy from New Zealand called
Love Birds and then talked on the phone with a cute Laos girl from Texas who I only know from
her Tumblr. She's fucking weird, but that's why she's interesting.
She posted a picture of the back of her legs for me.
I slept really late today. Kara woke up at 8 in the morning. She hadn't been taking her medicine, so when I finally did wake up and found her in the guest room, she started crying because I keep getting so many phone calls and texts (quite possibly one of the stupidest things she's ever cried about while off of her meds). The trucker confirmed today that he can pick us up from the Pilot we were originally dropped off at after he gets a night's rest tomorrow morning around 7. FINALLY! We didn't want to spend this long anywhere, let alone Wyoming. But, as I expected, it worked out. The chaos that dictates life isn't exclusively cruel. I don't dislike Wyoming, but it will be nice to be somewhere else where there is actually area to explore and everyone doesn't look like Pappy Drewitt and/or Elmer from Pappyland.
The other day, I received a message from a cute girl who lives in Albany via OKCupid. It just said, "hi." It was enough to be exciting. I also finally got a response from a ridiculously cute girl named Emily in Delanson that I messaged a month ago. She's ridiculously beautiful and is into weird stuff, so we might get along. She gave me her number and Facebook and claims to be into heavier guys, which means there's some chance that she won't look right through me like every other girl does! I also e-mailed a bunch of bands about booking today. I want to actually have stuff to look forward to when I get back and am preparing diligently since the first two to three weeks of being back home are always the hardest.
I can't wait to get out of here.
