One of the quirks in my beliefs regarding morality is that have effectively no interest in the intentions behind an action.

That is to say, in judging whether an action is right or wrong, good or bad, virtuous or sinful, the only thing that matters is the action itself, not the why's and wherefores of the action.  My main reasoning for this is that we currently have no certain access to anyone's intentions outside of our own.

Now if we ever do manage to build the perfect lie detector or telepathic interface, then certainly that would change my opinion.
