A question to you all: How do you put up with this god forsaken heat and distance?

[Well that seems to be a short and sweet text-post as opposed to the normal video/audio posts you all tend to get Johto. I wonder why...?]

[Sadly, Cecil's ability to answer with text is nonexistent.]

Having a Water- or Ice-type helps dealing with the heat. As for the distances, your best bet would be to obtain a Flying-type, borrow the Fly HM and earn the Zephyr badge.

...You have to teach a bird to Fly?

Not to fly in itself, but to do so with a human rider. Just like you need the Surf HM if you wish to cross a body of water by riding a Pokémon.

That sounds quite cumbersome, despite the benefits.

It is, especially since both the HM and the badge are necessary. Luckily, unlike TMs, HMs can be used multiple times.

[This merits further research.]

...Though if you have trouble with the current heat, I suggest you also obtain a Fire-type, to prepare for winter.

You're welcome. You might want to find either a Ponyta or a Growlithe. They'll keep you warm during the winter, and you'll be able to ride their evolution throughout the year. You'd then have only the current heat to deal with.

And Violet City has a lovely ice cream parlor, if needed.

Ah, really?

[Well that sounds sort of pleasant.]

It's much better than anything Cherrygrove has to offer, even though they have no beach.

Well, I prefer the sound of the sea as opposed to desserts myself, but either of these sound pleasant.

A shame that my traveling partner tends to rush things rather than taking it slow.

There's one of those in every travelling party, I fear. Perhaps they'll settle down once they reach a city that pleases them.
