Title: Myth, Table, Treasure, Mouse, Reboot

Pairing: Shalka!Boys

Rating: G

Disclaimer: Not mine, seriously or there would have been more episodes with them.

Summary: Five Drabbles set in the Shalka!Verse. One of them is Christmas themed and another hopefully counts as the Shalka!Doctor/Goosnake fic I promised to write.

A/N: Written for tambores , who gave me the prompts in the first place, as a small Christmas present. Finished just in time.

1 - Myth (150 words)

They say there used to be a man, a wanderer, called the Doctor. He saved the universe countless times and helped more people than there seem to be stars in the night sky.

They say from time to time he picked up people and took them with him, showed them the wonders of universe and its horrors. They changed trough him, became more than what they could have been if they had stayed where he took them from.

The Doctor helped so many people find their happy end, but they also say he never found it for himself.

Now he is gone.

No one knows where he went or what happened to him.

Some say he grew tired, some say he died, some say he finally lost to his oldest enemy, but my Grandmother Alison, she says she knows the truth.

She says he has finally found his happy end.

2 - Table (200 words)

Around Christmas, Alison forced them to bake with her.

And so - after having cut out dozens of stars, Christmas trees and something that vaguely looked like a Shalka and Alison insisting that they needed more hearts - the two most notorious Time Lords in history found themselves cutting heart-shaped Christmas biscuits.

After they put them into the oven, the Doctor and the Master continued their usual banter and Alison broke it up by throwing flour at them, which then turned into a chase through the TARDIS. By the time they remembered the biscuits they were almost burned, except for a pair of hearts in the corner that had gotten stuck together. When trying to get the baking sheet out of the oven Alison burnt her hand, dropping it. Except for the two hearts all biscuits broke.

While the Master tended to her hand, the Doctor took care of the mess, getting reminded he shouldn't break or throw those hearts away, to which he replied gruffly, that he had no intention of doing so.

He placed them on the table and when they later tried to remove them, the TARDIS had put a stasis field around them, not allowing them to.

3 - Treasure (150 words)

Every box should contain a treasure, it doesn't matter if it is small or big, if it doesn't mean anything to the finder or to the one who put it there, but at least it should.

That is the unspoken rule of the Universe and even the TARDIS knows that.

She is stuck in the form of a Police Box and she likes it that way, which means, since she is a box, she should keep a treasure.

There are many treasures she keeps for her Doctor, but there is one she holds dearest. It is her Doctor's most prized, loved treasure, even if he wouldn't even admit to it under duress. It is a part of his hearts in the form of a man and with the will second to none.

She will do anything to protect it, even if it means keeping it, him, inside her own heart.

4 - Mouse (100 words)

When he finds the Master this time, he is not in the form of a snake.

“Honestly, old friend. It starts to get ridiculous!” he says sourly, but picks up the translucent mouse anyway. Holding it gently in his hands while scrutinizing it harshly. The mouse squints angrily at him, which, he thinks, makes it even cuter.

“Come on, it was your own fault after all.” That doesn't do anything to cheer it up, on the contrary.

He sighs. “Perhaps it is time we build you a proper body,” he admits and the mouse looks interested, but cautiously, at him.

5 - Reboot (100 words)

With the Master imprisoned in his TARDIS, with him being a part of her, the Doctor comes to learn a few things, that he logically had known before, but never really understood.

There are things in the universe you can't run away from, especially not your own feelings.

You can't just switch your friends off or leave them behind.

No matter how much you wish you could, you can't reboot a relationship.

Sooner or later you have to deal with the consequences of your actions.

Sometimes everything is worth it in the end.

But you have to work for it.
