So finally having my own job this summer will give me the finances to be able to build my own PC. The current rig I have needs a massive update, so instead I have decided to build my own for the very first time. I'm looking to get a top end video card, 4 gigs of RAM, and the best processor possible, probably Intel rather than AMD.
I was looking at 512MB video cards, however it seems nVidia(who served this PC well, and as such I have decided to stay with them) does not yet have a 512MB card out yet. Their new 7800 model with 256MB of video RAM looks good, and weighs in at $600:

I'm open to suggestions on the previous two(especially for the motherboard), and am looking for ANY input on the rest. Hard drives, power supplies, cases, speakers, etc. Not looking for a HUGE expensive set of speakers, just something reliable that will get the job done, with a subwoofer.
Edit: Probably should include that I'm trying not to go too far over $2,000 with this, and probably looking at least 400GB+ of storage. Depending on how expensive the HDs are, I may go for 1TB of storage for maximum comedy effect.
